The Square Folk Dance Club

The Square Folk Dance Club meets every other Wednesday at Witcombe Village Hall, halfway between Gloucester and Cheltenham.

What we do
We dance traditional dances from all sorts of sources. These could include, in one evening, early social dances of the 17th Century, country-house dances of the 18th and 19th Century, village dances, modern dances of all sorts of complexity, some Scottish based dances, American contras and squares etc.

The one thing that they have in common is that they are social dances designed to be enjoyed.

Meetings start at 8.00 p.m. and finish at 10.30 (occasionally 11.00 for a party).

The Hall has a bar. Visitors or new members are always welcome whether in a couple or as a single (we have plenty of other single members).

Our current membership is more than 70 strong, with an average attendance of 46 each evening: visitors pay £2.50 each meeting, members £1.50.
